Skull X-Ray

Skull X-Ray

Clinicals for February 3, 2010

Well I had to x-ray a really nasty foot today with one of the toe’s amputated. Feet are not my most favorite to x-ray, especially when they are sweaty and the patient is unable to move it.

Clinicals for January 29, 2010

So I got to try the gas crystals we use to inflate the stomach during fluoro exams today. Actually they where not quite bad for being orange flavored. Also, last week I had a patient try to tickle me while we where moving her on the table for a supine abdomen. The best thing to do is just smile and laugh after the exam is completed.

Clinicals for January 27, 2010

Today in clinicals I got to participate in an UGI with air. An Upper GI is short for Upper Gastrointestinal which is a exam done in the Radiology Department for viewing of the distal esophagus, stomach and the duodenum. During this exam we give the patient two types of barium, a thick and a thin mixture to better coat the lining of the stomach. We also give the patient gas crystals to better inflate the stomach. As a result of this procedure their was only a small amount of esophageal reflux shown.
